One of the irritating things about vacuuming is dragging or pushing that big thing around the living room. A better solution would be a compact but powerful vacuum that moves where you move, with a convenient strap that fits over your shoulder. That's the Orca Mini-Vac--named after the killer whale for its plump-bodied shape and silver and black accent colors. Its sturdy body and 600-watt motor make the Orca suitable for household or light workshop use. Because of its flexibility, it's especially helpful for cleaning drapes, couches and architectural details such as moldings, doorjambs, and windowsills. In addition to the carrying strap, it comes with a 2-1/2-foot flexible extender hose and two finial attachments--a crevice tool and a dusting brush. These attachments fit either directly into the body of the Orca or into the end of the hose, to fit the needs of various vacuuming tasks. The 14-1/2-foot power cord gives enough room for maneuvering around fairly large household rooms. Cleaning the Orca Mini-Vac is very easy. The collector cup detaches for easy emptying, and the filter is removable and can be washed in warm, soapy water. (The filter should be entirely dry before being replaced in the vacuum cleaner.) The motor/handle section is not immersible, and it is not advisable to put any of the components in the dishwasher. The Orca is not designed for wet or damp material. The vacuum measures 10 by 6 by 7 inches. Top Innovations products include a one-year warranty against defects and come with a detailed instruction booklet. --Garland Withers

Orca OC-910 Customer Review(s):
Summary: Fantastic for $20! Rating: 5 (out of 5) Comment: The one thing that I would change about this vacuum is that it has a cord, which of course makes it a bit more cumbersome than a cordless. However, given the fact that no cordless I've ever used has this kind of power, it's a fair trade off. It sucks beautifully and comes with attachments for various jobs. Got it for $20 and I am very pleased that I did. .........................................................................................................................................................................
Summary: GREAT MINI VAC Rating: 5 (out of 5) Comment: This has great power and much better than those cordless vacs which you will have to throw away after a year or so. .........................................................................................................................................................................
Summary: Decent vac, but mine was used. Rating: 4 (out of 5) Comment: OK...in all honesty, I purchased this item simply because it, combined with a full-size vaccum that I was already purchasing, qualified me for a promotional gift certficate greater than its $14.99 price. However, it comes in handy for tasks such as cleaning out the car - my old Dustbuster doesn't hold its charge long enough to finsh anymore.
Upon attempting use one of the included attachments with the device for the firstt time, my wife was unable to insert it in the unit. Upon inspecting it, I discovered a good chunk of what appeared to be a similar attachment already jammed down inside the vac. I was able to crack it with a screwdriver, and remove the pieces with a needlenose pliers. It was the tail end of one of the attachments, and had been obviously snapped off.
This did, however, make me wonder exactly who was misrepresenting the vac - is Amazon knowingly selling used equipment as new, or is it their vendor?
Used status aside, this performed as well as could be expected for a $15 device. It sucks, and in vaccum-ery, that's a good thing.
