Summary: As a booklight, not so great, but for other uses...

Comment: I belive that I recived this light as a gift, and it was forever helpful. Although it doesn't have a very widespread beam for reading, it is very helpful for a portable light. With a removeable light, you can carry a mini flashlight where ever you go,that has a reasonably powerful beam. It fits well in my hand, (the ball) and it's good for doing closeup work. Plus, when clipped to something, the ball is very maneuverable in the holder. All in all, this is a very handy, very cool 'gadget' to have around the house for all purposes.

Comment: That's right. It arrived turned on, thus reducing its battery life and the battery is one of those hard to locate fat circles. And then the light does not fasten nicely to the book and it doesn't give a wide enough scope to facilitate reading. You wind up holding it in your hand, which rather defeats the purpose of a booklight (get a cheap flashlight instead). My advice: Don't buy it.
