Comment: I bought this tool for a fairly complicated job at the house. I needed to replace all the oak spindles on our staircase. After I cut them to size I used the pocket hole jig to screw the spindles into the stairs. It worked with unexpected ease. The finished railing is solid and looks great. I went with this aluminum one rather than the plastic jig Kreg sells. Also, you'll need a #2 square driver bit and a supply of screws for either hardwood or softwood.

Comment: First let me say that I have been a pocket hole fan for over a decade. I have built endless projects with it and I have almost everything Kreg makes. I recently discovered that you can order a new upright from Kreg that has chip relief holes drilled into the sleeves. I upgraded my unit and I can now drill a pocket hole in one motion rather then having to lift up to remove wood chips half way through the cut. I would either make sure this version has those holes or inquire how to get one with those holes. They make the best tool in my shop even better. By the way, I meant to give it 5 stars and I can not figure out how to change it.
