At 1,000 watts, the Super Shark vacuum is more powerfaul than most other handheld models. It also comes with numerous configurations, for wide-ranging use in the house, car, or workshop, as well as variable suction to accommodate delicate surfaces. The vacuum has a bagless design, gathering debris in a dust cup that is fitted with a washable and reusable filter. The cup detaches from the front of the unit for simple emptying. In addition to the dust-cup filter, the vacuum comes with a pleated true HEPA filter to trap particulates as small as 0.3 microns. The vacuum body features a 1-1/2-inch circular suction opening that is large enough for most small jobs. For bigger tasks, the unit comes with a hose and 6-inch turbo brush. Additional tools--an extension tube, an upholstery brush with removable bristles, and a crevice tool with a flip-up brush--can be used with the hose or fitted onto the suction port directly. The unit also comes with a shoulder strap and a motor-protective thermostat that cuts power in case of overheating. Covered in rugged plastic, the Super Shark body measures 13 by 8 by 5-1/2 inches. No purring kitten, the vacuum does make some noise in use, and tools must be stored separately. --Emily Bedard

Summary: Great so far!

Comment: I shopped a long time for this handheld vacuum. I wanted something with power (a wall plug-in, that didn't need to be charged) and something that was quiet. So far this vac delivered everything I wanted. I work in a large open office area; the vac could be run while people were working and even talking and was not disturbing. It picks things up quickly and quietly and it is powerful too. I highly recommend it. The only thing is that it does get warm. The shoulder strap is helpful because it is a little awkward, but all of the attachments it comes with are very useful. It worked well to get dust bunnies and hard to get crumbs out of keyboards, plus paper shreds, and small rocks.

Comment: I was looking for a powerful machine with strong suction with a hose and crevice attachment without the cumbersome upright or canister attached to it. This machine is perfect. The suction is unbelievably strong and the hose with all its attachments allows me to reach behind my bed while standing at the other end! I can reach ceilings and behind furniture that I could not reach with my upright. The duster attachment is fantastic for cleaning blinds. The duster spins and is continously being suctioned by the vacuum while you work. It is perfect for things that I normally would only clean during my big 'twice a year' cleanings. Now I can do them every 2 weeks with ease!!
The only negatives I have are that the machine isn't easy to store. There is no place for any attachments on the unit, so every piece must be stored as its own. The other thing is that the filter doesn't really get very clean just by 'tapping' as the manual suggests. I tapped and tapped until I saw no more dust flying out, yet upon inspection of the filter, I saw a lot of dust wedged in it. I slid a toothpick up and down the grooves of the filter and dislodged a ton of dust, then tapped it out. That makes for quite a bit of effort, but to be honest, I haven't found another hand held machine with these attachments and this fabulous suction. I am willing to live with the cons!!

Comment: I bought this item and was satisfied with it for the first 100 days or so until it completely stopped working. Euro Pro support is HORRIBLE. It took them 6 weeks from the date I called them to send me a new adapter; my unit still did not work with the new adapter. Then they told me they could fix it, but would charge me shipping and handling both ways. I am just going to throw it out and buy the Dirt Devil I should have bought in the first place. I had one that I bought used and worked for years.
