Barwalt Tool Company Customer Review(s):
Summary: Excellent Knee Pads: Super Value Rating: 5 (out of 5) Comment: Theses are the 3rd set of Barwalt Ultra Light Knee Pads for Me. The first pair lasted 4 years. I didn't need another pair, but I couldn't pass up the price. They are light weight. Soft exterior won't scratch even polished marble. Pads are completely washable. Soft rubber straps have six different adjustments. Awesome soft interior protects knees from even hard rough surfaces. I love them! .........................................................................................................................................................................
Summary: best available, but should be better Rating: 4 (out of 5) Comment: I have owned several pair of these and have found them to be the best product on the market. They are fairly comfortable, easy to use, and durable. The straps will wear out along withh the buttons that hold them on. I have carpenters that wear them every day all day, and they last about year at most. The padding holds up very well, and does not compress. I would have given them a five star rating except for the fact that there should be better products available. It is the 21st century after all. These are by far the best value around. My carpenters refuse to wear any thing else. .........................................................................................................................................................................
Summary: Not comfortable or durable Rating: 2 (out of 5) Comment: I was disappointed by the uncomfortable fit of these knee pads. When wearing the pads with shorts, the rubber straps tended to slip down my legs. I nearly had to give myself a tourniquet to get the pads to stay where I wanted them! The limited adjustment range did not help, either: the straps have belt-like holes in them and hook onto posts on the pads, so you end up with straps that are either too loose or too tight. They were so uncomfortable that I only wore them once and then bought a (better) set of pads with cloth straps and Velcro closures. The pads themselves were also not nearly as rugged as I expected them to be. The outer pad is a soft, pliable rubber that I would expect to be easily damaged by rocks, protruding nail heads, or pretty much any hard or sharp protrusion from the ground/floor. The pads that I have now are constructed with a much harder outer shell that is also not supposed to mar hardwood floors and similar (relatively soft) surfaces. Based on the uncomfortable fit and poor choice of outer pad material, I give these pads two stars out of five. I would have given them one star, except that they did provide good cushioning once I was on my knees. .........................................................................................................................................................................
