ViewSonic's NextVision N3200w 32-inch LCD television features powerful image-enhancing technologies for stunning TV and video entertainment, including compatibility with high-definition picture sources from your DTV receiver or personal computer. Intense colors, high-contrast images, native 1,280 x 768 resolution, and powerful onboard speakers with virtual surround sound capability will immerse you in the action. There's even a front-panel digital media reader so you can view your favorite digital photos. The N3200w offers a direct-digital DVI (Digital Visual Interface) with HDCP (high-definition content protection), ensuring long-term compatibility with evolving HD technology. Video games and movies come to life with the set's super-fast 18 ms response time, which produces smooth motion video. A high brightness LCD panel, 600:1 contrast ratio, and 170-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles combine to further enhance the overall visual experience. LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch 'flyback' noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life (with no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning. They also tend to be cheaper and, to some eyes, slightly more natural looking than their plasma flat-panel counterparts, which usually 'spec' higher (higher brightness, higher contrast ratio). The N3200w also performs 3:2 pulldown detection and reversal. DVD mastering introduces a common distortion when adjusting 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video; reverse 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this distortion, removing the redundant information to display a film-frame-accurate picture. The N3200w's integrated NTSC tuner grants convenient off-air reception of standard-definition programs, while its powerful audio system (12 watts per channel x 2) sports a dedicated subwoofer output for use with an optional powered subwoofer to enhance bass frequencies in all your programs. Compatible with analog and digital PC and Macintosh computer systems, the television also offers component-, composite-, and S-video input connections, as well as the DVI terminal mentioned above. Full, single-tuner picture-in-picture and split-screen functions let you preview 2 video inputs simultaneously. The set comes with a matching 51-key remote control and can be easily attached to a wall using an optional mounting kit. What's in the Box TV, detachable table stand, remote control, remote batteries, a user's manual, and warranty information.

ViewSonic N3200W Customer Review(s):
Summary: Great Value Rating: 4 (out of 5) Comment: This is a quality LCD at a great price. I recommend it to anyone in the LCD market. .........................................................................................................................................................................
Summary: Somewhat good Rating: 4 (out of 5) Comment: The Good:
-The Media reader is a great add-on. It works with standard scroll and slideshow functions.
-The Sound is great, it's good to not have to hook all components to the receiver and TV. With the n3200w, you can have one input to the receiver from the tv, and it sounds great (it's only stereo. No dolby 5.1).
-The tv is bright. It has no problem being too dark, and even if it is, there is a menu to adjust the brightness and contrast
The Bad:
-With all analog input signals (except the PC), the picture gets very NOISY. Items in focus are usually void of this problem, but there is lots of noise on backgrounds. It also has a bad problem with fading. For example, if you ever seen the New Line Cinema logo/intro to a movie, there is a glow behind the picture of the film. With this tv, the glow is very fuzzy, and it isn't a smooth transition from light to dark; you see 'steps.' This is has not been a problem with using the VGA and DVI inputs however. Perhaps it has a problem with scaling to any resolution besides it's native (1280x768).
Overall:
The ViewSonic is a good overall package, especially for the price. It is wall mountable (although I haven't tried it), and it has most of the needed inputs (except HDMI, which you can buy a converter to DVI). However, for straight cable signals, s-video and component, you will have to move your seat/couch back if you don't want to notice noise and 'rain' in the background. .........................................................................................................................................................................
Summary: Viewsonic Support Rating: 3 (out of 5) Comment: Viewsonic does not offer in home service for this large monitor (like many other manufacturers). If you have a problem you will need to ship it to Viewsonic.
I have what I thought was a minor problem which could easily be resolved. The media reader did not work properly. After much going back and forth with Viewsonic their service department determined the media reader portion of the N3200W does not work properly with some standard digital camera files and now states 'the media reader is considered a courtesy picture viewing function of the display' and as such will not guarantee that it will perform properly. The N3200W product information does not call the reader a courtesy function as I took in good faith it would work, it doesn't work with many jpg files.
I have not yet determined if all other functions work properly (I don't use all the inputs/outputs). Are there other 'Courtesy' functions not supported by Viewsonic? .........................................................................................................................................................................
