Summary: I'm returning mine Rating: 2 (out of 5) Comment: I was looking for a small tv/dvd combo for my bedroom. This looked like the best balance of price and features (<$400 when I got it on Amazon). The unit is very lightweight and compact, but it has a few drawbacks, some minor, one major. The overall finish looks kind of cheap, but it is okay for the price.
The biggest drawback for me was the picture quality. I tried adjusting it several times to get a really good picture, but the quality was never more than mediocre, even on a DVD (I tested it on Star Wars and Futurama).
The resolution and brightness of the picture are really lacking and the viewing angle isn't great either. The picture quality is okay while viewing straight on, but at a slight angle (e.g. while viewing in bed), I had to angle the TV to be able to view. Overall, the picture lacks resolution, sharpness and brightness. If you want a crystal clear picture, this is not for you.
Also, the remote doesn't have any lit buttons, so if you do view in bed or in the dark, it's hard to work.
Overall, this might suit you for very limited applications, but I am not happy with it and am returning it. I picked up the 17 inch widescreen Magnavox LCD/DVD at Circuit city and the picture quality and overall construction are much better for about $120 more. I tested it on the same DVDs and the picture quality is much, much better. I would strongly recommend that unit over this one. It looked almost as good as the LG 23' Widescreen for about 1/2 the price.
