Summary: recommend not to buy Philips Plasma TV

Comment: I got a new 42PF9936D around April 2002. During the last 3 years, it has been working fine. But, last Sunday (7/10), while watching TV, we heard a huge pop inside the TV, then the TV just went to standby mode. I tried to turn it on again, but the TV can stay on for just a few seconds and it turns to standy again.

The reliability is not much better than a cell phone.

Please consider a different manufacture, or just forget about plasma.
